One of the best sci-fi series from the past decade returns. After a few years of development, this past April AMC confirmed that it had greenlit ‘Orphan Black: Echoes’, a spin-off (they call it offshot) of fiction starring Tatiana Maslany (‘She-Hulk’).
The pity is that we won’t have the sestras hanging around here since Maslany will not be in this new series. A promising fiction about which we are going to review everything we know.
The history
Like the original series, ‘Orphan Black: Echoes’ will have an eminent female presence in which a group of women navigate a thriller with touches of science fiction. According to the official synopsis offered by AMC:
“Set in the near future, the series dives into exploration of the scientific manipulation of human existence. Follow a group of women as their paths cross in each other’s lives and they embark on a thrilling journey, unraveling the mystery of their identity and uncovering a harrowing story of love and betrayal.”
From here, the imagination flies and there don’t seem to be many clues about how exactly this series and the original will be connected. Basically, will there be clones? Will they have something to do with the LEDA projects (and the 274 clones) and Castor? Being in the future, will we have a new “generation” of neolutionists and the resurgence of DYAD?
The cast

The news around the cast is trickling down but we know that Kristen Ritter (‘Jessica Jones’) will lead the cast of ‘Orphan Black: Echoes’ as Lucy, a woman with an unimaginable origin trying to find his place in the world.
Together with her they have also announced the presence of Avan Jogia as Jack, former military doctor, single father and boyfriend of Lucy; Y amanda fix as Jules, the newly adopted daughter of wealthy parents.
The filming

According to various media specialized in productions, ‘Orphan Black: Echoes’ is already filming in Toronto. Production is estimated to last until December in the Canadian city.
Anna Fishk is the creator and main writer of the series, which has John Fawcett, co-creator of the original, as director and executive producer. The fiction will have ten episodes.
the release date
AMC has announced the premiere of ‘Orphan Black: Echoes’ for next year 2023. Of course, at the moment we do not have concrete information. In Spain we still do not know how we will be able to see this fiction.
The trailer and images
To this day we still don’t have a trailer or images of this new series from the ‘Orphan Black’ universe.
