While we were promised that the closet cleanout policy was over, there was still something left in the Warner cartridge. The latest series affected is ‘Snowpiercer: Snowbreaker’, adaptation of the homonymous film (and in turn of the comic), whose final season has run out of place to debut.
And it is that the company has revealed that the channel TNT will not premiere the last episodes from the icy railway dystopia. A decision that, apparently, was made months ago but that until now had not been confirmed by Warner.
According to a spokesperson for the chain:
“It has been a difficult decision, but our admiration for the talented writers, actors and crew who have brought Snowpiercer’s extraordinary post-apocalyptic world to life remains strong. We have been working with the producers for the past year to help them find a new home where fans can continue to enjoy the compelling story and exceptional viewing experience.”
already filmed
Even somewhat surprising given that the season was already in the post-production phase after filming finished last August 2022, it is a low that is included in the crossroads of Warner’s policy of containing expenses to the maximum and the cessation of original fiction productions on the TNT network. In fact, this was the only series that was kept alive.
Now, where will we see this final season of ‘Snowpiercer’? That is the question, because of course cases such as ‘Minx’ that goes to Starz or the HBO Europe series that moves to SkyShowtime indicate that it is likely that we will not be left without seeing the end of the series.
Who has all the ballots in this sense is Netflix, which is the platform that has the global rights. Of course, for the moment from the mother of the SVOD they have not spoken.
