Some days ago kanye-west commented in an interview that the concept for the film “django unchained” -directed by Quentin Tarantino– was his, when stating that during a “brainstorm” for a video clip he proposed to appear dressed as a slave. The project was finally not carried out, and the film was starred by the actor Jamie Foxxwho is a good friend of rapper.
Now it was Tarantino himself who was in charge of clarifying the situation, defending his film at all times. As he passed through the program Jimmy Kimmel and with the good humor that characterizes him, the director explained: “The idea that Kanye West came up with the idea for ‘Django Unchained’ and told me about it is not true. That didn’t happen. He wanted to work with great directors to work on the different songs on his album. The college dropoutlike mini-films that would make up a great film, and that was the perfect excuse to meet me, and we had a great time”.
The Oscar winner also commented that he had the idea for the plot of the film in question for months before he met West.which had nothing to do with what the rapper proposed to him: “I think it was for the video of “gold digger”, in which he would appear as a slave. That was the narrative and it was so much fun. Sure, it was supposed to be tongue-in-cheek, like it was some big musical extravaganza. He wishes he had, because it sounded so good. Either way, that’s what he’s referring to.”
