Prince William attended the wedding of his first formal girlfriend, Rose Farquhar, which took place on Saturday night in Gloucestershire, without the company of his wife Kate Middleton.
William, 40, attended the ceremony in a smart black tuxedo with bowtie and was one of many guests who watched his 39-year-old ex say “I do” to George Gemmell at St Mary the Virgin Church.
William and Farquhar first met at the Beaufort Polo Club after Princess Diana’s eldest son completed his higher education at the prestigious Eton College.
After their brief romance, Farquhar moved to New York to study acting at the Lee Strasberg Institute and later appeared on “The Voice UK” in 2016.
William’s departure comes just days after Netflix released the second installment of the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle documentary series, in which the Duke of Sussex accused his brother of “yelling” at him during a meeting.
“It was terrifying to have my brother yell and yell at me, and my father (King Charles III) say things that just weren’t true, and my grandmother (Queen Elizabeth II) sit there quietly and take it all in,” Harry said.
The six-episode docuseries, titled “Harry and Meghan”, also accused Buckingham Palace residents of using Markle as a “scapegoat” to divert the press from negative stories about other members of the royal family.
Buckingham Palace has not commented on any of the claims made on the show. A source told Page Six that William and Middleton have not seen the docuseries.
“William and Kate’s helpers filled them in on the show, but don’t expect the couple to sit in their cabin with a bowl of popcorn to tune in,” she told the outlet.
Senior members of the royal family have formed a united front in the wake of the couple’s comments, with many joining for the “Together At Christmas” concert at Westminster Abbey.
The second annual event was sponsored by the Royal Foundation and paid tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II, who died on September 8 at the age of 96.
Middleton was accompanied by her husband, along with two of their children, Prince George, 9, and Princess Charlotte, 7. Prince Louis, 4, did not attend the event.
