It was through Instagram, where 21-year-old Percy shared a statement where he has not only pleaded not guilty, but also reveals how these accusations affected him.
“Hello everyone. There’s something I need to clear up,” Percy began. “Earlier this year, someone I’ve never met started a disinformation campaign about me on the internet. Because of this, my family has been deceived and my friends have received death threats.
Underage photos of me were used, and examples of me acting in character were presented as hateful. My friend Jane was falsely portrayed as a victim, and her attempts to set the record straight have been ignored. She gave me permission to include her in this message,” she continued.
The actor assured that the rumors are completely false and assured that he is innocent of any accusation, since he would be incapable of hurting anyone.
“The rumors are false. I cannot accept being represented as someone intolerant or criminally negligent with the safety of people. These are the kinds of unsubstantiated and damaging claims that can lead to mistrust of victims.”
He was also grateful to those people who have believed in his innocence and who have shown their support.
“It is very distressing to know that this information has upset people. I’m so thankful for everyone who supported me and helped me share the facts,” Percy concludes. “Harassment of my family, friends and co-workers must stop please. Thank you for taking the time to read this.”
