Arnold Schwarzenegger is back. Netflix has released the first trailer of the next project of action and humor of the star of ‘Terminator‘, which is entitled ‘Fubar’ and it is the first television series of the actor, ex-governor of California, bodybuilder and icon of action cinema in the 80s and 90s and returns the vibrations of one of his greatest successes with James Cameron. It will premiere on May 25 on Netflix.
Spies, cigars and explosions
‘Fubar’ shows what happens when a father and daughter discover that their entire relationship was based on a lie and that they are both CIA agents. As the two join forces, the eight-episode series will feature themes of family dynamics, humor, action and, of course, spies. The trailer shows Schwarzenegger lighting a cigar, escaping around corners, and literally walking away from a burning garbage dump.
Schwarzenegger has revealed in a statement that the series is sort of a throwback to his last collaboration with James Cameron, which curiously has a series based on it on Skyshowtime tomorrow:
“Everywhere I go, people ask me when I’m going to do another big action comedy like ‘Risk Lies.’ Well here it is. ‘Fubar’ will kick your ass and make you laugh, and not just for two hours. You have a full season.”
Along with Schwarzenegger are Monica Barbaro, Jay Baruchel, Fortune Feimster, Milan Carter, Travis Van Winkle, Gabriel Luna, Andy Buckley, Aparna Brielle, Barbara Eve Harris and Fabiana Udenio. The actor is also an executive producer with Skydance Television and ‘Prison Break’ creator and showrunner Nick Santora, who commented:
“What always amazed me was how Schwarzenegger could be funny while still kicking ass. That’s why he wanted ‘Fubar’ to be a hysterical CIA spy comedy mixed with heart-stopping action! And it’s all of that, and more.”
