Queen Elizabeth II has also come to the DC Universe, where the series Pennyworth presented the most sensual version of the English monarch with actress Jessica Ellerby.
The United Kingdom, and the world, are in mourning. September 8, 2022 will be marked in history as the date on which Queen Elizabeth II died, who from March 26, 1953 assumed the throne of England. In the DC Universe Isabel II was represented in the Pennyworth series, in a quite different facet than the one we all know.

In different series and movies Queen Elizabeth II has been played by different actresses. For the Pennyworth series, actress Jessica Ellerby is in charge of bringing the English monarch to life, in a more daring version of the monarch.
From the first episode, the queen was characterized as a very decisive woman, and with very Machiavellian plans, so she does not go unnoticed by men like Alfred Pennyworth, who has saved Her Majesty’s life several times.
“She’s not completely historically accurate – she’s not married, we don’t see any siblings etc, and the way she writes is much more laid back and edgy than our actual monarch”, said Ellerby, in an interview that takes up the fistnews portal.
Ellerby’s portrayal of the English Queen would probably not be politically correct in the eyes of the British royal family, but in Pennyworth she gives us an adventurous and sensual monarch, which is far from English royal standards.
Elizabeth II, a Legend
But Pennyworth is not the only series in which Queen Elizabeth II was represented. The Monarch became an occasional character in the third season of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
Gwenda Lorenzetti is in charge of playing Elizabeth II, in an episode set in 1970, where the Legends discover that the fugitive magician Charlie is hiding in London, where the monarch is a fan of attending clubs where rock groups are presented.
Rest in peace the (true) Queen Elizabeth II.
