The involuntary manslaughter trial of paul lyle started this September 20 in a criminal court in Miami, Florida, and as announced a few weeks ago, it is under strict security conditions because it is a case that has been in the public eye.
It will be in the next five business days when the fate of the Mexican actor is known, who was arrested in March 2019 after being involved in a traffic incident in which he hit Juan Ricardo Hernández, a 63-year-old man of Cuban origin who lost his life a few days later due to the brain damage he suffered. Since then he has remained under house arrest wearing a GPS monitor on his ankle that allows authorities to monitor his movements 24 hours a day.
Although the trial was postponed several times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it finally began with the selection of the jury, a period that could take two to three days, so the sentence is expected to be known next week.
According to information revealed by the program ‘Gossip No Like‘, the actor appeared before the court and drew attention to his physical appearance, since he has shorter hair, no beard and is much thinner than before, although he was very calm at all times.
Likewise, the correspondent Mónica Mendoza explained that the actor was accompanied by some members of his family, among whom are his sister and an aunt: “Perhaps with uncertainty, because at the moment he sees his sister behind, hugs her very hard, then you can see her nervousness“, in addition to his former brother-in-law, Lucas Delfinowho is on the witness list.
They agree that Lyle could serve a sentence of 5 to 15 years in prison if found guilty of involuntary manslaughter.
“You have to remember that It has been 3 years in this process and that is going to be taken into accountit is not known if suddenly they already consider that he paid what he should have paid, also is reduced because he has no record and good conduct“added the correspondent.
It is known that the judge in charge is completely impartial, as are the members of the jury since, due to the fact that it is a trial that is in the public eye, they have taken care of the details of each one of those involved.
However, it was revealed that Pablo Lyle’s fate could change since new evidence has been found that it is not known if it could be for or against.
“There was a meeting between prosecutors and defense, because they did not admit that they had in their possession a video of the body of one of the police officers, which may be significant in the case, and they agreed at the end that it is going to be among the elements that are going to be shown in the trial. A video that the prosecution had since April 2019 and the defenders did not knowhe explained.
