The old house of Julia, the mother of the famous singer John Lennon, will be auctioned on September 26. The organizers of the bid expect to receive £250,000 pounds for her, something like $280,000 dollars.
The property, located in the area of Blomfield Roadin Liverpool, England, is remembered by fans of the Beatles because of the importance of John Lennon’s own musical development, but also of Paul MCCARTNEYwho took their first steps in the music scene there.
The residence, commonly known as House of Sinwas inhabited by John Lennon’s mother from 1950 to 1958, the year in which he lost his life.
The property is considered of great historical importance for everything it represented in the origins of what, years later, would become one of the most successful groups of all time.
“This house is well known to fans of The Beatles and anyone with a passing interest in how the world’s most famous musical group came to be. It is of great historical importance, is in a great area and is an established part of the Beatles’ tours of the city,” the auction description reads.
Inside it has three bedrooms, a hall, a kitchen, a dining room, a living room, a main room, a laundry room, among other rooms, while outside it has a patio, terraces and green areas. It is said that it still retains some original materials and details, which gives it a plus before the next bid.
“The property is believed to include some original features such as doors, cabinets and fixtures that would have been there when Julia Lennon and her family lived on the property,” the auction house posted.
