Blue Beetle will be the third DC Comics movie confirmed to open in 2023. The first is Shazam!: Fury of the Gods, scheduled for March 17, and The Flash, which will arrive on June 23. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
Jaime Reyes is the third bearer of the Blue Beetle mantle in the comics pages, debuting in Mystery Men Comics #1 (August 1939). Reyes is heir to the glories of Dann Garrett and Ted Kord.

Jaime Reyes (Xolo Mariduena), a recent college graduate, returns home full of aspirations for his future, only to discover that the house is not exactly as he left it.
As he seeks to find his purpose in the world, fate intervenes when Jaime unexpectedly finds himself in possession of an ancient relic of alien biotech: the Scarab.
When the Beetle suddenly chooses Jaime to be his symbiotic host, he is given an incredible armor capable of extraordinary and unpredictable powers that will forever change his destiny as he becomes the superhero Blue Beetle.
Xolo Marudueña leads a cast made up of George Pérez, Elpidia Carrillo, Adriana Barraza, Damian Alcázar and Oscar winner Susan Sarandon as Victoria Kord, the villain of the story
