Almost a year after the death of Octavio Ocanawho is remembered for his character “Benito” in the Televisa series ‘Vecinos’, Mr. Octavio Pérez revealed what really happened the day the actor died.
Last Thursday, September 22, the police officer Leopoldo N, who would have been responsible for the shot that took the life of Octavio Ocaña on October 29, 2021 during a persecution in the streets of the State of Mexico, was linked to the process, and although the family had preferred to keep details of the investigation under absolute discretion Mr. Octavio Pérez disclosed it what really happened the day the young actor died.
During an interview with the journalist María Luisa Valdés Doria for the morning Telediario, it was revealed that Octavio Ocaña was assassinated and the person in charge of activating the weapon that ended his life was the policeman Leopoldo N, who has already been linked to the process.
“It has taken us eleven months to get to that: Octavio Ocaña does not shoot himself, Octavio Ocaña never takes out his pistol, he had the pistol stored as it should be, how I taught him because the gun is to defend himself, not to go around showing off, far from it, ”said the actor’s father.
Likewise, Mr. Octavio Pérez detailed what happened after the police chase in which the ‘Neighbors’ actor was involved and at what point he was shot.
“According to our research They come chasing him, they stop him, they lower him, they shoot him, they raise him again and they adjust his cap because my son never wore the cap like that, he always wore it sideways and since I saw the moment of everything, I said: ‘this was not like that,’ he explained.
He reiterated that they are sure of what happened, which is why they have even considered publicly exposing the expert reports carried out in which they show the evidence of the murder.
“We are going to open the expert reports to the public, we have them on a disk The whole scene is already as it was from the chase, how they get him down (from the truck), they shoot him with the rifle and they get him back up and that (police officer) was the one who shot him, he didn’t want to say it, but he shot him, one hundred percent.”
And he stressed that the death of Octavio Ocaña occurred as a result of the shot fired by the policeman, so they expect the Prosecutor’s Office to act with the full weight of the law.
“My son’s gun was fired, but the casing was never found. They kill him with the police rifle, they shoot the gun, but they don’t shoot it in a vertical trajectory but horizontally and from the nerves they did everything wrong. The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office told me that he has another crime going so he doesn’t go out, he doesn’t go out anymore. This character is going to stay there and hopefully for the rest of his life“, he pointed out.
For his part, Francisco Hernández, lawyer for the Pérez Ocaña family, shared the most relevant results of the investigations that were carried out.
“The experts conclude that Octavio never shot himself, to reach this conclusion they analyzed various aspects. The shot never occurred inside the vehicle. The injury that killed Octavio could not have come from his gun.”
He stressed that after eleven months of seeking justice, the judge in charge of this case found sufficient elements to link police officer Leopoldo N to trial for the crime of manslaughter and improper use of force and violations of the duty of caresince instead of safeguarding the lives of citizens, the police elements caused the murder of Octavio Ocaña.
