Episode 7 of ‘The House of the Dragon’ has raised a controversy very similar to the one that ‘Game of Thrones’ itself raised at the time: several HBO Max users have expressed their discontent through networks, accusing the last episode of “being too dark”.
“Nothing seen”
‘Driftmark’, episode 7 of ‘The house of the dragon’, has received a barrage of criticism due to its dark moments, in which the picture is so dark it’s hard to see the action what is happening on the scene.
Given the widespread discontent that has aroused in networks, HBO has defended the dim lighting of that part of the chapter as “an intentional creative decision”.
Hi Stephen! We appreciate you reaching out about a night scene in House of the Dragon: Episode 7 appearing dark on your screen. The dimmed lighting of this scene was an intentional creative decision. Thanks! ^LL

this episode is directed by Miguel Sapochnikformer showrunner of the series and also director of the episode of ‘The Long Night’, episode 3 of season 8 of ‘Game of Thrones’ that was already criticized for the same issue at the time. Sapochnik defends the illumination of the scene:
It made sense that this was humanity’s last hope, the last beacon of light, and from the perspective of where we needed to go with the story, which was to reach a surreal and chaotic climax, we needed an environment to match that. So there was every reason to do it that way and no one sat down to think if it would look too dark.
The first season of ‘The house of the dragon’ will consist of 10 episodes and broadcasts a new one every Monday on HBO Max.
