After ‘The invisible man’, the next Universal Monsters brand is ‘Renfield’, a horror and action film that cgoes into Dracula’s fly-eating henchman, though it has Nicolas Cage playing the titular vampire. Time has arrived the official trailer with Nicholas Hoult as the footman, in what is defined as a “modern adventure story with a comic tone” that will hit theaters on April 14, 2023.

In this version of Bram Stoker’s classic novel, Renfield realizes he has a toxic relationship with Dracula that he needs to get out of. But is there life beyond serving the infamous Prince of Darkness? Either way, Nicolas Cage is in his crazy comfort zone oy aims to offer one of the most unusual visions of Dracula seen to date.
In the official synopsis:
“In this modern monster tale of Dracula’s loyal servant, Nicholas Hoult stars as Renfield, the tortured sidekick to history’s most narcissistic boss, Dracula (Nicolas Cage). Renfield is forced to procure his master’s prey and follow his every command, no matter how demeaning. But now, after centuries of servitude, Renfield is ready to see if there is life outside the shadow of the Prince of Darkness. If only he could figure out how to end his codependency.”

‘Renfield’ is based on an original storyline from the creator of ‘The Walking Dead’ robert kirkman, with Chris McKay, from ‘The Tomorrow War, 2021) or ‘The LEGO Batman Movie’ directing the film. The film co-stars Awkwafina, Ben Schwartz, and Adrian Martinez. Ryan Ridley from ‘Rick and Morty’ wrote the script.
