Dexter Morgan’s universe is coming back, but perhaps not in the way we expected. It’s been over a year since we fired again (and almost definitely) our favorite psychopath in ‘Dexter: New Blood’. In the series we saw the retired life of the psychopath… until there is something that makes his dark passenger return.
To the surprise of few, this return (which we were able to see through Movistar Plus+) was a complete success (the most watched in the channel’s history), which it presaged a season 2 or rather a spin-off/sequel. A possibility that its creator already pointed out, speaking of the shocking ending… but that will not happen.
As published exclusively by TVLine, finally there will be no season 2 of ‘Dexter: New Blood’, which would have followed the adventures of the young man Harrison (Jack Alcott) dealing with his own urge to kill after the death of his father, Dexter (Michael C. Hall).

Although the new installment has been in development for a while, has finally been scrapped. Which is curious when from Showtime they consider Dexter as one of their great brands (of course one of their definers).
This cancellation does not mean leaving the world of the psychopath, since apparently there would be several projects on the table. One of the most likely to be made would be a prequel that would explore young Dexter in his early years. Of course, at the moment everything is in the phase of “talks” for what is in the air.
What do you want me to tell you, the truth is that this future would be somewhat disappointing. It seemed to me that, if we were to expand, there was more potential in exploring the next generation dealing with their own ghosts and darkness to travel to the past to tell us even more adventures of the psychopath created by Jeff Lindsay.
