This summer is being celebrated in style the 25th anniversary of ‘One Piece’, and while in Japan it is about to be released ‘One Piece Film Red’, in South Africa the series continues to be recorded in real action on Netflix.
We already know a large part of the signings of the remake in action on the platform, and now they have also introduced us to the actor who will play the younger version of Monkey D Luffy.
Flashbacks in sight
In ‘One Piece’ we’ve had many looks at luffy’s childhoodespecially with flashbacks that show us how his dream of becoming the king of the pirates began to take shape and also his relationship with Shank. And considering that the Netflix series has already signed his Shanks, the confirmation that we would have a Luffy as a child could not take too long to arrive.

Colton Osorio has been chosen to embody this version of Luffy, while Iñaki Godoy will be the older Luffy. The 12-year-old actor has been active since 2017 and has appeared in ‘New Amsterdam’, ‘Sesame Street’ and ‘Cha Cha Real Smooth’.
In addition to revealing the new signing of ‘One Piece’those responsible for the series have also released a special video to congratulate Eiichiro Oda for the twenty-five years of the manga where you can see producers Matt Owens and Steve Maeda beside Emily Ruddwho will play Nami.

“Twenty-five years! It’s a monumental occasion,” Maeda said. “Congratulations to Oda-San on twenty-five years. We’ve only been doing this for a couple of years, I don’t know how he does it. It’s extraordinary.”
