The season of scares has arrived and one of the most festive times of the year for horror and mystery lovers. The Halloween is close and Netflix knows it, that is why it has already released its catalog of premieres for October 2022 and we must say that there are several movies and series that are totally worth it.

‘The Cabinet of Curiosities’ by Guillermo del Toro
The Mexican director and ‘master of monsters’ never disappoints us, which is why he will surprise us this season with a new genre of thriller. It is a mini series made for Netflix in which he will tell eight stories by eight filmmakers and the best thing is that he will present each episode himself, following in the footsteps of the master of horror, Alfred Hitchcock, who used to present his films.
This anthology promises to give us a good dose of terror, of course, always with the impeccable aesthetic of the Oscar winner, which ranges from the magical to the sinister.

‘The Midnight Club’
From the producers of ‘The Haunting of Hill House’ and ‘Midnight Mass’ comes this story of eight young patients at a hospice. Every day at midnight they get together to tell stories and one day they make a pact: the next one to die will send a signal to the group from beyond. It is based on a 1994 novel by Christopher Pike and other works by him.

‘Unsolved Mysteries (Volume 3)’
Netflix has decided to launch a third season of the unsolved case investigation program ‘Unsolved Mysteries 3’, which includes crimes, disappearances and even paranormal and extraterrestrial situations. In 2020 its first volume was released and the following year its second season. As announced by the streaming platform, three weekly episodes will be released on the most puzzling phenomena.

‘The angel of Death’
Jessica Chastain stars in one of the most promising thrillers of the season. The ‘The Angel of Death’ is based on real events and tells the story of nurse Amy (Chastain), who suspects that one of her colleagues at work (Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne) is responsible for a series of mysterious patient deaths. To discover the truth, Amy will not hesitate to put her own life at risk.

‘Mr Harrigan’s Phone’
From the mind of Stephen King and directed by Ryan Murphy and Blumhouse, comes a horror and suspense plot that is shaping up to be one of the best releases in the genre in 2022. ‘Mr. Harrigan’s phone’ will show the curious friendship between a young man and a rich old man, but the truly macabre begins when Mr. Harrigan dies and the protagonist begins to receive strange calls.

‘Cage’
From director Ignacio Tatay, this Spanish production is not a Netflix original, but it will hit the platform with one of the most engaging horror thrillers of the year. ‘Cage’, previously called ‘The Chalk House’, begins when a couple finds an enigmatic girl on the road who seems to appear out of nowhere, in a plot that combines intrigue, unexpected twists and real terrors.
