The Netflix’s Geek Week continues to bring us a good batch of news and has been no less in the animated department. The streaming platform plans to continue expanding its anime catalog, and has taken advantage of the week to present the first trailer for an anime series based on the video game ‘Cyberpunk 2077’.
Another anime with Studio Trigger at the helm
Studio Trigger It has quickly become one of the anime studios to watch after hits like ‘Kill la Kill’, ‘Little Witch Academia’ and the impressive ‘Promare’. Now we know that it has been the studio chosen to handle the production of ‘Cyberpunk: Edgerunners’.
The anime series will initially have 10 episodes and it seems that the developers at CDPR have been working together with the studio, although all the animation has been developed from Studio Trigger.
Rafael Jaki of CD PROJEKT RED serves as executive producer for the series, with Satoru Homma, Bartosz Sztybor, and Saya Elder serving as producers.
Hiroyuki Imaishithe director of ‘Promare’ and ‘Gurren Lagann’, is at the helm of the project as director, while Hiromi Wakabayashi works as a character designer Yoh Yoshinari of animation director.
The specific release date has not yet been confirmed, but a September release window has been confirmed for ‘Cyberpunk: Edgerunners’. The plot of the anime is raised as a separate story from the video game to continue developing the world of ‘Cyberpunk 2077’although it is always possible that there will be some surprise for those who have played.
