With an unpublished poem, Neil Gaiman paid tribute to Neal Adams, the legendary cartoonist who revolutionized the Batman mythology, who passed away last April
On April 29, 2011, the comic industry fired one of the legends who redefined the Batman mythology in the 1970s, Neal Adams, who was honored in a special way by Neil Gaiman.

In his most recent appearance in places like Massachusetts and Oregon, Neil Gaiman released a poem to Batman, which he recited in memory of Neil Adams, and with it Gaiman could raise his hand to write a new Batman comic.
The author of Batman: Whatever Happened to the Caped Paladin? He highlighted in his poem the story of the Dark Knight. Pearls that fall like tears on the stones of the alley. In the poem, Gaiman highlights the timelessness of Batman and his different versions.
Gaiman even pointed out that Batman was more real than Santa Claus or God himself, which generated an attraction to the horror genre when the Gotham Vigilante lived through darker stories, thanks to the work of Neil Adams along with writers of the stature by Denny O’Neal.

The poem went on to discuss the importance Batman has in popular culture and how his legacy will live on for years to come.

Gaiman wrote in 2009 Batman: Whatever Happened to the Caped Paladin?, a story that takes place in flashback in a Gotham City that lost its greatest protector, something that rivals and allies commemorate.
On social media, Batman fans have asked Neil Gaiman to write a new Batman story, something the author would be honored to do.
