Peter Pascal He is the fashionable actor in Hollywood and he does not stop working. Surely more than one wonders how it is possible that he does not stop adding projects when he is the protagonist of ‘The Mandalorian’ and we will also see him in season 2 of ‘The Last of Us’. Well, now he himself has revealed a secret about the Star Wars universe series that we all suspected.
“It has given me the opportunity to leave and do other things”
The interpreter who will shortly begin filming ‘Gladiator 2’ has participated in an interesting round table of The Hollywood Reporter together with Kieran Culkin, Jeff Bridges, Michael Imperioli, Evan Peters and Damson Idriswhere he has confirmed that currently “most” of his work in ‘The Mandalorian’ consists of recording his phrases once other actors have already filmed the scenes, although this was not always the case:
There was a lot of experimentation going on, being in the suit for a lot of it, and honestly my body wasn’t up to the task in terms of, like, four months of it. But I was inside. I was inside for a significant amount of time. But now we’ve sorted it out, which is great, and surprisingly it’s given me a chance to go off and do other things.
Surely many noticed that in the third season of ‘The Mandalorian’ credited for the first time to Brendan Wayne and Lateef Crowder for his work bringing Din Djarin to life. The former is in charge of shooting the bulk of the scenes, while the latter has to deal with the action scenes. Then Pascal has the most grateful task and gets (almost) all the credit, because now he doesn’t even have to take off his mask.
As Pascal himself acknowledges, this leaves him a lot of room to accept other projects and it is evident that the first of them was ‘The Last of Us’, since the filming of the first season was very extensive and lOr it is more certain that he would not have been able to make it compatible with ‘The Mandalorian’ if he had had to shoot all his scenes.
Remember that after the second season there were rumors about a possible departure of Pascal from the series, so it is likely that this is the result of an agreement that was reached so that he would continue to be linked to ‘The Mandalorian’. And it’s not the first time something like this has happened in ‘Star Wars’, as David Prowse recorded the scenes as Darth Vader in the original trilogy but then the voice we hear is that of James Earl-Jones…
