The second episode of mrs marvel continues to confirm the good vibes that the new Marvel Studios series gives off and maintains the level of the first episode by delving even deeper into the lore surrounding Kamala Khan’s newly discovered new powers.
We are definitely facing the origin of Ms Marvel of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so we will have to wait patiently with everything that they want to ask us little by little. But the Inhumans are beginning to smell.
The big question: Will we see Mephisto in Ms. Marvel?
The second episode of mrs marvel It serves to present some conflicts that Kamala Khan will have to face on her journey of superheroic discovery, including the figure of Kamran, his training, the Damage Control agents, his first official performance and that unexpected cliffhanger.
I mean… mrs marvel It’s not like it’s the great series from Marvel Studios either, but it has something that does attract attention. The soul with which the series is made. The mime. It is felt.
Kamala in this episode has been asking herself questions about the origin of the bracelets and it seems that they awaken something inside her. Perhaps one of the most popular critics to criticize something of mrs marvel it is precisely the change of powers and… A consummate fan of Ms Marvel which has all the comics where it appears. Please.
Ms. Marvel is much more than her powers is Kamala Khan
And in the series they are embroidering it just as its version is in the vignettes. Something to criticize mrs marvel is that it was born in an editorial moment where the inhumans They began to swarm in the Marvel Universe as mutants and Kamala got the Chinese.
In the previous article we already discussed that Kamala’s powers in the comics were fortuitous and that she obtained them by being linked to the Inhuman lineage.
This episode delves deeper into Kamala’s grandmother’s past, something that was also dealt with in the comic and like the theme of the Partition.
I think that what Marvel Studios is trying to do with Kamala’s powers is to give her her own story that is not as sustained in the Marvel Universe as her counterpart in the comics, and to leave her patio ready with a lore to match.
The theme of the bracelet has a lot of crumb. And more so when he mentions that his powers come from within. So the bracelet activates Kamala’s powers. And with the appearance of Kamran we definitely smell Inhumans with those crystals embedded in the bracelet.
In the comic Kamran also appeared to steal Kamala’s heart who soon discovered that despite the good vibes he was not quite as good as he seemed having allied himself with an Inhuman boss opposed to the then Queen Medusa. In any case, Kamran was found to be Inhuman and… Put two and two together?
It is intuited that those crystals are Terragenesis and that sooner or later it will explode and I think that Kamala will then become what she is destined to be and we will see her use her powers as in the comics but we will have an origin story to match where we are introduced by the Inhumans for the first time and let’s not forget that it will connect with the marvels. I suppose that more than one turn of the screw awaits us in this regard, so calm down.
Another point that fascinates me about the series is the theme of Pakistani culture and how they are bringing it closer to us. At Marvel Studios. Lately we are seeing that Marvel Studios is worrying about reflecting more realities than the archetypal ones of all its heroes.
And Ms. Marvel was born championing The New and Different Marvel in which a whole new generation of superheroes was born with a vocation to become the greats of the Marvel Universe.
As Kamala trains with her newly discovered new powers, we also have Grandma’s story in mind; and the Kamran romance, and we’re not forgetting Damage Control who seem to have appropriated the Stark technology they seized in Spider-Man’s trial.
Do you smell Skrulls?
I don’t think Agent Clearis is a Skrull but the companion with him is. It’s cool to have these cops chasing Kamala since it’s a classic of the genre to have everyone against you so that the conflict is the real engine of the plot and Kamala will need to be tested on all fronts.
On the one hand we have her preparing her brother’s wedding; grappling with the idea of Zoe bragging to be Nightlight’s friend and… We got to the end.
When Kamala must put herself to the test before her loved ones and her family and show off everything she has learned when it comes to manipulating that energy that seems to come from the bracelet. And when everything seems to end well… BOOM! We have Kamala running away and bumping into Kamran who in turn introduces her to her mom.
How fast our boys grow!
I have already commented that in the comics Kamran also appeared to make Kamala fall in love and he was quite the heartthrob, until he discovered that he belonged to a criminal group that wanted to eliminate Medusa the Queen of the Inhumans at the same time that we discovered that Kamran was also Inhuman. On the other hand, comment that Nakia’s plot has me in love. Iman Vellani is still a treasure. And the series maintains the level seen from the first episode. On a technical level it is impeccable. The script sucks.
It won’t change the world of special effects but Ms Marvel promises to change the world of more than one and one. Definitely. We have an episode that serves as a knot in which we can see many of the conflicts that Kamala will have to face beyond her first love or having to deal with the Damage Control agents and now that mysterious woman who promises to give her many answers of the true origin of Kamala Khan’s powers.
CURIOSITIES
As always in the previous episode I missed a few things. To begin with, we have a commemorative plaque at the Kamala Institute with the names of those responsible for the fate of mrs marvel in the comics.
Normally we have a section of thanks in the end credits but in the series they have given it a place of honor. QR codes are back! In the first episode of Ms. Marvel We have a QR code that, when scanned, gives us the opportunity to read the first issue of Ms Marvel digitally. In this second episode we also have a new QR code.
Kamran is a character from the comics and we could consider him Kamala’s first nemesis. A friend of her family, Kamran came into Kamala’s life to make her fall in love and then stab her in the back when it was discovered that he was Inhuman and on top of that he belonged to a criminal organization with a very bad feeling. First love always hurts.
As I have already commented, although the powers are different, I think they are offering us a Kamala Khan more than up to the task and we will see where the subject of the grandmother’s past leads us because I am sure she will spin with the entire plot of the origin and will manage to give us something so it will be worth the wait.
Bruno already comments. The bracelet channels the energy that exists within Kamala. So as soon as the Inhumans cross their path…
This episode is for us to see Kamala Khan’s training and how little by little she becomes Ms Marvel. At the same time she tries to discover what her limits are and how they work.
Is it me or is there a nod to Black Widow’s death in Avengers: Endgame? And they go…
The truth is that after watching the episode I wanted to see a Bollywood movie and the reference to Kingo was great, one of the characters from Eternals who had precisely created a lineage of himself from parents and children, always being the protagonist of all his films.
The partition of India was a real historical event that saw the creation of the sovereign states of the Dominion of Pakistan and the Union of India in 1947. A traumatic event that left many victims along the way. And it seems that Kamala’s family suffered at that time. Precisely in the comic it was Kamala’s great-grandmother who had to experience her Partition in her own flesh and was already talking about exile from among her own. And it is that Kamala’s grandmother seems to have originated from a lost Inhuman tribe and she joined humanity when she fell in love with her husband and Kamala’s grandfather.
Aisha is Kamala’s grandmother and we will surely meet her in future episodes.
The Damage Control agents use Stark technology that they acquired during Mysterio’s trial against Spider-Man. Menudos! This division seems to be destined to go after people with superpowers. Is a future Civil War coming? In the comics there is The Kamala Law which prohibits minor teenagers from donning the costume to save lives.
And finally we have Kamala meeting her mother-in-law and she still hasn’t said yes, although Kamran shows that she’s a great game. Or not? Kamran’s mom is not that she wakes up very cool but well…
Conflicts and more conflicts! That yes Damage Control, that its the wedding of his brother, Nakia, Bruno, Kamran and the first love; the training of the powers; that performance at the end…
I really cried when I saw the end of the second episode of Ms. Marvel because I realized that this series could make a difference.
Ms. Marvel speaks face to face with the fan and it shows that it is tailor-made for all audiences because we have all been Kamala Khan. I can’t ask for more. Okay, yes. She is already giving it to me.
An origin in which all the pieces of Ms Marvel’s mythology will be put together to unite it and offer a show to match that will manage to raise Kamala Khan on the Marvel Studios goddess podium.
Damage Control continues to give the bag although there may be more involved than what they have apparently presented. It is still early to draw any conclusion on this. But we will see if it is legal that they are using the Stark technology stolen by Mysterio to carry out operations of this type on American soil. Kamala will have to be careful with her identity for this very reason.
While Kamran and the appearance of the end of his mother… It leads us to think that perhaps we are not very far from seeing the Inhumans since it smells like Grandma’s past, the bracelets, those crystals, Kamala’s powers , now Kamran’s mother and the boy himself. Presumably these are on the run from Damage Control. Of course.
But what will be their intentions? Are they Inhumans? Will they help Kamala learn more about her origins? Of course I imagine that they will put her in a situation where Kamala will surely bet on being on the side of the heroes. I do not doubt it.
At least the first threats are drawn and they seem to be threats that will make Kamala have a difficult time in the coming weeks. Will we see Black Lightning in Ms. Marvel? Place the bets on him!
