Lacquered in red and with yellow gold details, it also has a cap that symbolizes an amplifier used by Jimi and a gold-plated clip that evokes the lever of one of his guitars. But also, add references to the album Electric Ladyland, of 1968, which marked a watershed in the career of the American artist. Production of this model is limited to 1942 pieces.
There’s also the LE99 pen – whose production is limited to 99 units – which is based on the commemorative release of the album. Live at Woodstock from 1999. This design has a cream lacquer cap that refers to the Fender Stratocaster guitar used by Hendrix for his presentation at the festival. Similarly, it has a peace sign in solid white gold.
Finally, this collection has a Jimi Hendrix edition ballpoint pen that has a whitish cap alluding to one of the straps used by the artist. In addition, the cylinder of it is inspired by a pedal wah-wah, a jazz term that, in principle, referred to the sound emitted by the instruments of the music created in the second decade of the 20th century and that Hendrix later popularized in the 1960s with the electric guitar. It also has a tremolo bar clip, labeled Are you experienced.
It is with these three pieces that Montblanc pays tribute to the guitarist who, in 2011, was cataloged by the magazine rolling stones as the best of all time. It is already that something is undeniable: the legend of Jimi Hendrix is written in gold letters in the history of music.
