The contest Miss Universe has changed the most controversial rules, including those that have to do with maternity and menstruation.
As of October 2022, the beauty contest is now run by transgender businesswoman Anne Jakapong Jakrajutatip and it was she who changed the basic rules.
This is how the rules of Miss Universe have changed

- Women with children and married will now be able to participate.
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women as well.
- Divorced women will be allowed to join.

Controversies of Miss Universe

In 2015, Steve Harveythe presenter of the night, got the awards wrong and announced the representative of Colombia as the winner when in reality it was the representative of the Philippines.
The Venezuelan Alicia Machado was Miss Universe in 1996 and that same year, Donald Trump became the owner of the contest. The businessman called on the media to record the winner training while he criticized the different parts of her body.
