Telecinco is preparing a new daily series, more than a decade after ‘Yo soy Bea’ ended. Is about ‘Vengeance is mine’which has arrived involved in controversy, due to the sudden layoffs from its creative team and lead actors.
Layoffs and departures
At the end of last year, Mediaset announced that it was working on a new daily series: ‘Vengeance is mine’, created by Aurora Guerra (also creator of the recent ‘Scandal, story of an obsession’). Production was left in the hands of Alea Media, which began its casting and script development phase.
According to Yotele, the production company knocked down the work of several months, including the recordings that had already been made and with the consequent economic losses. This happened last week, as well as the dismissal of two of its main actors and the departure of its creator and showrunner of the project.
The sudden changes coincided with the arrival of Amalia Martínez de Velasco who, after being fired from RTVE, joined the production company as second executive.
After rethinking the entire project, the company has resumed production with a new creative team and two new actors: Jose Sospedra (‘Serve and protect’) and natalia rodriguez (‘Love is forever’). These two names join the cast headed by Lydia Bosch (‘Personal reasons’) and which also includes Elena Furiase, Begoña Maestre, Armando del Río, Fanny Gautier and david wallamong others.
‘Vengeance is mine’ tells the story of Sonia, a woman who survived a tragic car accident, in which she only managed to save one of her daughters. Years later, Sonia runs a successful sports club, unaware that a young man whose life was destroyed in the accident plans to take revenge on her and her daughter.
