The Mexican National Team, which aspires to take revenge for its defeat against the United States in the last edition of 2021will face Qatar, Honduras and Haiti in Group B.
The United States, for its part, will face Jamaica, Nicaragua and a rival from the preliminary round in Group A, which will come out of the clashes between Curaçao, Saint Kitts and Nevis, French Guiana and Saint Martin.
Costa Rica will play in bracket C against Panama, El Salvador and another team from the preliminary phase that will be decided between Martinique, Saint Lucia, Suriname and Puerto Rico.
Finally, Group D will include Canada, Guatemala, Cuba and another rival to be decided in the preliminary phase between Trinidad and Tobago, Guadeloupe, Guyana and Grenada.
Those in charge of drawing the names from the drums were former players Jared Borgetti (Mexico), Carlos Pavón (Honduras), Cobi Jones (United States) and former player Tashana Vincent (Jamaica).
The main tournament of the Concacaf (Football Confederation of North America, Central America and the Caribbean) will begin with two preliminary rounds to be held between June 16 and 20.
The group stage will take place from June 24 to July 4, followed by the quarterfinals (8-9), semifinals (12) and the final (16) at SoFi Stadium (70,000 seats), the home of the Rams and the Chargers of the American Football League (NFL).
The games will be distributed in this edition among a total of 14 cities in the United States and one in Canada.
As a preview of the event, the ‘Final Four’ of the Concacaf Nations League will be played, which the United States, Mexico, Canada and Panama will play between June 15 and 18 in Las Vegas (Nevada).
Both events serve as a prelude to the Copa América to be held in the United States in 2024 and the 2026 World Cup, which this country will co-organize with its neighbors Mexico and Canada.
