In the early hours of Wednesday, April 19, various media reported that The Mexican actor Sergio DeFassio died at the age of 70, due to a heart attack after the surgery he had undergone to have a pacemaker placed.
Originally from Puebla and with extensive experience in television, DeFassio was always oriented to the comedy genre, starting his career on shows like “Ambrosio’s Carbine” and “Hospital of Laughter.” In the 90s he became one of the base actors in the soap operas of the producer Emilio Larrosaas “The Grand Prize”, “Dreamers” and “Friends and rivals”. He would participate in dozens of melodramas, the last being “The neighbor” (from 2015), in which he played a bishop.
In 2019 Sergio reported that a tumor was detected in his head, undergoing several surgeries to remove it. All this caused him to be absent from the small screen for a long time, but he continued to appear at public events, being very optimistic. A few days ago he attended the wake for xavier lopez Chabelo -one of his great friends-, where he gave some interviews. His last job on television was in the series “A day to live”of Aztec TVin 2022. Rest in peace.
