Throughout his extensive career, the American singer Elvis Presley Not only did he manage to win the affection of the public worldwide, he also amassed a great fortune that was made up of properties, luxurious cars and even a private jet.
Now, It was reported that said plane will be part of an auction under the orders of the auction house GWS Auctions, in California. But, what amenities does the luxurious aircraft have? Here we tell you all the details.
Like many Hollywood and music stars, the “king of rock and roll” was not deprived of traveling around the world in his own plane. Due to his long tours, he acquired one that had everything he needed to make his trips more comfortable.
It was a Lockheed Jetstar 1329 built in 1961, considered a luxury model and very exclusive for its time. The exterior structure had an orange and white paint, while inside it did not have armchairs, but rather large armchairs upholstered in red velvet, a special request from Elvis himself.
Also, the jet has everything you need to carry out a special dinner. And it is that its complete space for bar, equipped kitchen and even a marble sink they were synonymous with opulence and glamour.
According to authentication documents, the Jet’s history dates back to 1961, when Lockheed leased the jet to a company until September 1962; it was then sold by Lockheed to the Morton Salt Company in November 1962. Morton Salt Company owned the aircraft until July 1976, when it was sold to Omni Aircraft Sales, who would later sell it to Elvis Presley and his father.
It should be noted that until now, the aircraft was a major tourist attraction at the Roswell airport in New Mexico (where it is currently located). However, it is ready to be auctioned off to the highest bidder who wishes to keep it as a collector’s item.
“This jet has the potential to be restored and put on display for the world to see. Please note: the aircraft has no engines and the cockpit is missing most components“, detailed the auctioneers.
