matthew perry is about to start the promotional tour of his autobiography Friends, lovers and the big terrible thingin which he talks about his personal problems, especially his drug and alcohol abuse, which brought him to the brink of death.
The star of the television series “friends” commented that during all those years he had the support of his fellow actors on the show, but it was Jennifer Aniston who confronted him when his way of drinking was already very remarkable, although she was never in an inconvenient state on set: “She said to me, ‘I know you’re drinking. We can smell it,’ and being confronted by Jennifer Aniston was devastating.”
By then, Perry was hanging out with drug dealers a lot and felt very lonely, but he said Aniston was the one who reached out to him the most, for which he is very grateful. Regarding the book (which will be released on November 1), the actor commented, “I think you will be surprised at how bad I had it at times and how close I came to death. My hope is that people identify with it and know that this disease attacks everyone.”
