Following the success of No Way Home, Tom Holland’s future in the MCU is unclear. Now, Marvel prepares the Spider-Man 4 project.
Jeff Sneider, journalist from The Anklerhas shared an update on the future of Tom Holland. The young actor plays the Spiderman in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The most logical steps are that soon we have Spider-Man 4 with the continuation of the adventures.
Even though there are plans to make Spider-Man 4 with Tom Holland, Jeff Sneider has assured that an agreement has not yet been signed between Marvel Studios Y Sony Pictures Entertainment. Therefore, the continuity of this arachnid version is currently in question. Rather, it is in a “waiting state” but with great expectations. Especially since, as Jeff Sneider has added, both studios want the franchise to continue its course as before. Just need to make it official.
Sony Pictures is not going to let this successful franchise get away
“Sony Pictures may not have the biggest franchise bench, but they made a smart deal with Marvel Studios to bring their star character, Spider-Man, to the MCU. This helped make the solo Spider-Man movies essential at the box office. Although there are plans underway to make another spider trilogy [que empezará con Spider-Man 4] starring Tom Holland, no deal has yet been signed. Therefore, those plans remain unofficial at this time. With that cleared up, I’m sure there will be more arachnid adventures with this actor. He is a top priority for Rothman & Co. They are also counting on him for the Uncharted franchise.”
Sony Pictures has every reason to want to strike a new deal with Tom Holland. His films have far surpassed the critical and economic failures of projects such as Morbius. No Way Home it became one of the most acclaimed films in the history of Marvel Studios. And the franchise’s highest-grossing solo film in a long time. Not to mention that, while waiting for Spider-Man 4the spider trilogy has netted Sony almost $4 billion in box office earnings.
