Although today we see him as the Hulk in the MCU, Mark Ruffalo was tempted by evil and was on the radar of The House of Ideas to become Doctor Doom for a Fantastic Four tape. Which version was it?
Marvel’s cinematographic history has stories worth telling, such as the auditions that could have been given at some point, like Mark Ruffalo, who instead of becoming the Hulk would have embraced evil like Doctor Doom in Fantastic Four.

But Ruffalo did not seek the role of Doctor Doom in the 2005 production, in which Julian McMahon played the villain created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Much less in the unsuccessful version of 2015, where Toby Kebbell embodied a very different version of Victor Von Doom.
In 1994 the premiere of Fantastic Four was contemplated, a film directed by Oley Sassone, which weeks after its premiere it was decided to destroy the negatives.
But some copies found their way to video stores and the internet, making it a cult movie.
En route to Latveria
For Fantastic Four in 1994, Joseph Culp was chosen to play Doctor Doom, although one of the candidates to play Reed Richards’s nemesis was none other than Mark Ruffalo, who was starting his career at the time.
According to CinemaBlend, Ruffalo auditioned to play Victor Von Doom, but director Oley Sassone chose experienced actor Joseph Culp.
“things happen for a reason”, goes a popular saying, and this Fantastic Four movie could not reach the theaters, and its existence was a kind of urban myth until this movie was leaked on the internet.
Ruffalo began to show his talent in film and theater, and made a name for himself in Hollywood from the first decade of the 21st century, which led him to be cast as Bruce Banner / Hulk, a role he has played since 2012.
