Despite the new projects for DC Comics animations, Mark Hamill’s voice as Joker will not be heard again, and the actor gives his reasons for this decision
Without a doubt, the best voice of Joker in animated series and films, as well as in video games, was Mark Hamill, the actor who rose to fame thanks to the Star Wars saga, and who would have put an end to his stage as the iconic DC villain.

Stunned by the loss of this brilliant actor. Words can’t express my admiration and respect for the man. I loved him like a brother.#RIPKevinConroy 💔 pic.twitter.com/THlaZ2uTSh

“I am stunned by the loss of this brilliant actor. Words cannot express my admiration and respect for the man. He loved him like a brother”.
Two months after the death of Kevin Conroy, Mark Hamill revealed in an interview for Empire magazine that his cycle lending his voice to the Joker in DC animated projects has come to an end.
Hamill himself pointed out that the absence of Kevin Conroy in the next projects makes his return as the mythical villain of Batman impossible.
“They’d call and say, ‘They want you to play the Joker,’ and my only question was, ‘Is Kevin Batman?’ If they said yes, he would say, ‘I’m in.’ We were like partners. We were like Laurel and Hardy. Without Kevin there, there doesn’t seem to be a Batman to me..”
Mark Hamill debuted as Joker in the episode Joker’s Favor, broadcast on September 11, 1992, and since then he has given his voice to the clown prince of crime in animated projects such as series, movies and video games.
The native of California is considered on a par with great actors like Jack Nicholson or Heath Ledger as one of the best interpreters of the Joker in the history of Batman film and television.
