After his visit to Mexico for the delivery of the MTV MIAW 2022 Awards, the influencer Ecuadorian María José Villavicencio, better known as Luz María or “the billionaire businesswoman”, found herself in the eye of the hurricane after she was denounced for fraud and homophobia.
This complaint went viral when the Mexican producer Rodrigo Fragoso issued a statement in which he assures that María José had breached a contract and had mistreated the staff. In addition, he claimed that the actress had homophobic behavior.
Due to these accusations, María José had a virtual interview with the also influencer Diane Rodríguez, where she argued that the accusations are completely false and that their intention is to discredit her with the LGBTI + community, since she affirms that they are the public that has best received her.
In her statement, she also assured that the producer paid trans people to give false testimony, stating that he had mistreated them, while she says that she does not know them.
The accusations arose as a result of the statement, but there were also other videos where the actors Alfredo Adame and Alejandro Tomassi complained about the failure to record a video, in which they would share credits with her.

It is known that María José received 50 percent in advance of each of the eight dates on which she would be present at events. In addition, she bad-mouthed people in the community with whom she was asked to take pictures. However, that was not her only problem, since she was given food sponsorships, aesthetic services and multiple objects that she had to mention on her social networks to give them publicity and she did not. In addition to this, in the previously agreed interviews she had an arrogant behavior and refused to attend events with LGBTI + personalities.
