Australian actress Margot Robbie attended the Sydney premiere of her new film Babylon this Monday night, dressed in an elegant gray dress that highlighted her statuesque figure.
The event was also attended by the two-time Oscar nominee’s childhood friends, who made sure to embarrass her during her stint on the red carpet.
As Rbbie was speaking to entertainment reporter Justin Hill, one of her friends standing behind her yelled, “Hey, worm!” due to “Maggot” being Margot’s nickname at school.
It seems to be a play on his given name, but it could also be a reference to the fact that he is a fan of the band Slipknot, whose fans are known as “worms”.
Margot took the moment in stride, turning to greet her friends enthusiastically. “I saw my friends from school. We’ve been friends since we were four,” the Wolf of Wall Street star told Justin.
Justin then uploaded the clip to TikTok, and Margot’s fans went wild over his reaction. “She looks so comfortable and happy,” one wrote, to which Justin replied, “She was glowing the whole time, it was lovely to see her.”
The moment comes after Margot opened up about her “wild ride” filming Babylon during her appearance on The Graham Norton Show last Friday.
There he admitted that he was “afraid of messing up” the epic opening party scene, which took two full weeks to film.
“It was a wild ride. There were some amazing set pieces, including a party scene that took two weeks to shoot,” Margot said of the Hollywood drama. “Every bit was crazy and the stress levels were terrifying because there was so much going on and I didn’t want to be the one to mess it up.”
Set in 1920s Hollywood, Babylon centers on the rise and fall of various ambitious dreamers, including characters played by stars Brad Pitt and Margot.
Margot is the overnight star, Nellie LaRoy, who makes her way in the industry by self-destructing through drugs, parties and sexual encounters.
She recently revealed that she went off script to kiss her co-star Brad in an impromptu scene, teasing E! News: “How else am I going to get a chance to kiss him?”
