In recent years, various regional Mexican music performers have been involved in scandals related to drug trafficking, either due to threats by a drug cartel, or for performing at parties for criminal leaders.
However, few have had the misfortune to have various experiences of this type, and one of them is the singer Frame Flowersvocalist and leader of the Banda Jerez, who today holds public office as a representative.
A few days ago, the musician announced through social networks the closure of his hotel located in the city of Jerez, Zacatecas, due to threats by members of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG).
According to the singer, those responsible for threatening the staff are known in the town. In his message, he asked people to be careful when traveling to Zacatecas, not to “trust”, although suggested that it was best not to visit the state.
Kidnapping
But this is not the only situation that Flores has suffered, because in 2012 he lived a much more dangerous experience when He was kidnapped by members of the Gulf Cartel.
According to the newspaper La Unión de Jalisco, the authorities investigated that the plagiarism was in retaliation for composing a narcocorrido against Iván Velázquez Caballero, alias “El Talibán”head of Los Zetas in Zacatecas.
To achieve his release, it was said that he paid five million pesos ($441,680 dollars).
drug party
That same year, Marco Flores and all the members of the Banda Jerez were taken away by the Attorney General’s Office to be interrogated about who was at a party and who hired them to perform.
The event, held in Monclova, Coahuila, presumably served to celebrate the birthday of Heriberto Lazcano Lazcano, alias “El Lazca”. The celebration was cut short when federal police raided the concert in an attempt to arrest the Zetas leader, but he managed to escape.
Enrique Frausto, the band’s lawyer, stated that his clients had no direct contact with the people who hired them for the concerts. He denied that the band was arrested by federal authorities and simply asked how many people attended the event and who was at the concert.
