“For me it is a very important challenge because when I came to the Telethon I only had four classes, two hours each day, eight hours of very fast classes with a Brazilian teacher. It’s not easy because it’s so similar to Spanish that when we try to speak some words, if we don’t know them, we end up speaking Portuñol with a weird accent. So, it was a challenge for me when I had the opportunity to talk to SBT about making a telenovela here, to make Carinha De Anjo. So, first I was surprised and then I thought, I have to speak Portuguese, I can’t go like this. So I was studying with a teacher for four or five months with continuous classes and two classes a week”.
The singer talked about how to work in Brazil with the little ones, “there in Mexico, when we make soap operas with children, we don’t have the schedules that we have here. Here you have to go to school and do your homework, not in Mexico. Sometimes the children who are working on television are not studying during that time, it is a little different, they work a little more with slightly more difficult schedules. It seems wonderful to me that here in Brazil children can also have children’s lives, study and play outside of the soap opera. Because you never know if a child is going to be famous and talented forever, so there has to be preparation, study and all that.”
And there Lucero expressed herself about the great job her mother did with her, “my mother is my manager and then when I was a child and said that I wanted to do something on television, that I wanted to be an actress, I wanted to be a singer, a presenter, she told me like ‘tomorrow’. She had no relationship with anyone who worked on television, she was not an actress or anything like that. Then, After years of asking him to take me on TV, he finally got me on a show, auditioning for a children’s show. So it finally worked and she always supported me in what I wanted to do, but she also always wanted me to be a girl“.
He added, “my mom asked the TV: ‘she needs to study, she can’t stay here all day, she has to play and eat well’. She has always taken care of my personal life, my real life, that of Lucero, not only as an actress or as a singer. My mother has a lot of vision, for me it was very important how she did things as a business woman with a lot of wisdom and that she knew what to do at the right time”.
On the other hand, the ‘Bride of America’ commented, “I recorded several songs for the soap opera, one of which is the main theme ‘Carinha De Anjo’, so that also helps a lot because singing day by day in the soap opera makes the public get to know the voice and style of this singer, which in this case is me”.
