The girl identified as SE was in the garden when a snake bit one of her lips. Because of this, and as a way of defending against the attack, the little girl bit the reptile in such a way that she ended up killing it. The horrified neighbors realized the situation when they found the little girl with the 50-centimeter viper held between her teeth.
The girl received first aid from the neighbors and was later transferred to the Bingol Maternal and Child Hospital to receive specialized medical attention. Fortunately, she was uninjured, except for possible pain left over from the bite.
In different areas of Turkey it is very common to find vipers in the middle of a patio or garden.
