In 1999 the Irish actor Liam Neeson starred along with Ewan McGregor the movie “The Phantom Menace”which is part of the saga of “Star Wars”. From there, fans have asked him on many occasions if he would be willing to repeat the character of Qui-Gon Jinn, especially after a special appearance in a chapter of the series. “Obi-Wan Kenobi” last year; however, his response was that she would not.
In a recent interview for the program “Watch what happens live!” Neeson was very clear in his opinion of the direction the treatment of the history of “Star Wars”: “There are so many spin offs from “Star Wars”. For me (the saga) is diluting, and in a very crazy way they have taken away the mystery and magic. It was nice to do that little appearance with Ewan after 25 or 24 years on that TV series, I was saying two or three lines and it was nice to do that, but that’s about it.”
Liam expressed his reluctance to participate in new projects of “Star Wars” since a long time ago, when he said that I would consider doing it only if it was a theatrical movie and not a TV series: “I’m a bit snob when it comes to television. Know? It’s just that I like the big screen.”
