The trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard continues to give much to talk about. The actor has now revealed that he helped her to be Mera in Aquaman.
During the defamation trial between Johnny Depp Y Amber Heardthe actor revealed the way in which he helped his former partner to sign for Warner Bros. Pictures. Thanks to him, she was able to become the Mere of the DC Extended Universe and appear in Aquaman. These statements come after everything that happened with the current president of DC Movies, Walter hamada.
When asked about what happened after Amber Heard’s audition as Mera in Aquaman, Johnny Depp explained that Warner Bros. Pictures told the actress that the film would be filmed in Australia. This, presumably, was a problem for her. According to preliminary reports, the actress brought her dogs (pets) to the Australian country in 2015. That fact is illegal due to the restrictive biohazard laws that the oceanic nation carries.
- Interviewer: “What do you think happened after Miss Amber Heard cast Mera for Aquaman?”
- Johnny Depp: “After the casting, or possibly the auditions, she told me that the studio had assured her that the movie would be shot in Australia. That country was a potential problem for her.”
The actress asked her ex-partner to give her a cable with Warner
Johnny Depp went on to explain how Amber Heard asked him to speak to Warner Bros. Pictures due to their long relationship. The Hollywood star agreed to it without problems. He made a couple of calls to company superiors regarding Aquaman. She could not confirm for sure that this helped the actress land her role as Mera. However, she felt that she “curbed her concerns” about the actress having to go to a production in Australia.
- Interviewer: “What happened after she auditioned for Mera in Aquaman?
- Johnny Depp: “Amber Heard informed me that the movie would be filmed in Australia and she was worried about that because…Warner was also worried. She asked me if she could help her, because she had worked for them for a few years. Also, she had a multi-year contract with the studio, so we were in business together and she knew certain people. She had made movies for them. She asked me if she could talk to someone. I made a couple of calls and talked to some execs from Warner: Kevin Sujihara, Sue Kroll and Greg Silverman.
- Interviewer: “What was the result of talking to those people?”
- Depp: “I can only say that she finally got to be Mera in Aquaman. Somehow, I hope I have relieved her worries to a certain extent».
