Everything indicates that the dream of thousands of fans to see John Krasinski as Reed Richards will be frustrated in the reboot of Fantastic Four by Marvel Studios.
John Krasinki’s brief appearance as Reed Richards in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was a welcome surprise for fans of the first family of superheroes, but the return of the former The Office star might not materialize in the Fantastic Four reboot, a charge of Marvel Studios.

Fantastic Four has come to the cinema three times, the first in a 1994 tape, which came direct to video. 20th Century Fox produced Fantastic Four in 2005, and the 2007 sequel Fantastic Four: Rise of Silver Surfer, both directed by Tim Story.
In 2015, the filmmaker Josh Trank directed the reboot of this team in a film that passed with more pain than glory in movie theaters, whose sequel was immediately cancelled, and after the merger between The Walt Disney Company and 20th Century Fox, the rights of the Fantastic Four are in the hands of Marvel Studios.
Will John Krasinski not return to Fantastic Four?
In February 2025, the return of the Fantastic Four to the big screen is contemplated, and despite the fact that thousands expect John Krasinski, this may not take place.
At a press conference to present Jack Ryan, Krasinski admitted that he has not negotiated with Marvel Studios his return as Reed Richards to the film directed by Matt Shankman.
“No argument at all, the only argument I had was actually on the penultimate week of ‘Jack Ryan’… Kevin Feige called me and said would you ever fly to LA and play in our sandbox for a day? ? I had the honor to do it”.
The actor-director admitted that he was excited to play Reed Richards in a Marvel movie, but there are no plans at the moment to join the cast of Fantastic Four.
“I’m a huge fan of all those characters and that world, so being able to play in that sandbox for a day was really exciting.”.
