A little more than ten days have passed since the investigating judge agreed to the arrest and subsequent entry into provisional prison without bail for Dani Alves. The former FC Barcelona player is accused of sexually assaulting a girl during the night of December 30 at a nightclub in Barcelona. Now, it has been his wife, Joana Sanz, who has decided to take another legal step against Barça: has started divorce proceedings.
This was confirmed this morning by ‘El Programa de Ana Rosa’ after the most complicated week for the model, who has denounced the harassment on social networks after the arrest of Alves. The Telecinco space has guaranteed that Joana insists that the divorce decision was made by herself and unilaterallywithout legal advice and not even with a face-to-face with her husband as a pretext.
Joana Sanz already commented in one of her first statements on the delicate personal situation she is going through not only because of the abuses of which Dani Alves is accused but also because of the recent loss of her mother to uterine cancer. In fact, it seems to be she herself who has realized that her emotional weakness was what led her to defend the ex-soccer player at first: “I know who my husband is, and how respectful he is.”pointed out the model shortly after the arrest of her husband.
While Joana files for divorce, Dani remains in prison without bail for the accusation of this sexual assault. Let’s remember that the former soccer player gave up to three different versions of the night of the events, while the young woman who filed the complaint was consistent with the data she gave just hours after suffering the alleged sexual assault, when she went to the Police to file the complaint.
Dani Alves at first commented that everything was a lie. In a second statement, he admitted to having been in the bathroom of Sutton’s nightclub next to the girl and, in a third version, he assured that it was she who pounced on him to have consensual sex. The young woman has refused financial compensation so that no one dares to subtract the truth from her story.
