The premiere of ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge’ took place more than five years ago. Since then, people have been talking about how to continue the adventure saga led up to now by Johnny Depp. The last thing we had known was that the spin-off he was going to star in margot robbie I was dead but now Jerry Bruckheimer has shed a bit of light on the future of the franchise.
A matter of priorities
Bruckheimer is the producer behind all five films in the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ saga so far, so there’s no one better informed about what’s to come than him. In statements given to Collider, he has now clarified what happened to Robbie’s film and what is the priority right now:
I think that script will come out at some point. We developed two different stories for Pirates and the other one goes first, so that’s what we’re working on, to try and get it done…
That other story Bruckheimer is talking about is the one he’s working on. ted elliott, one of the creators of the Jack Sparrow character and screenwriter in the first four installments of the saga. The problem is that it is still unknown what it will be and also if the idea is to get Depp back, as Bruckheimer said a few months ago that he was not involved at that time, but that “the future is yet to be decided“That yes, the actor does not seem to be very much for the work, although I am still convinced that continuing the saga without him does not make much sense.
Let’s remember that this other project in which they are working seems to be the same one in which Craig Mazin, creator of ‘Chernobyl’ participates, who has been very busy lately with the highly anticipated television adaptation of ‘The Last of Us’. Maybe now I can focus on himWell, the HBO series will be released in just a few weeks and everything should be practically ready for launch.
