The 52-year-old actor gave an interview to Diane Sawyer, an ABC News presenter, of which images were released on Wednesday, and which will air on April 6.
Renner was shoveling snow at his Nevada home when the machine started up while the actor was not in the driver’s seat. The snowplow ran over him when he tried to get back on it.
“I was awake the whole time,” Renner told Sawyer, recalling the physical pain he felt.
Renner has participated in multiple Marvel projects, as well as two “Mission: Impossible” films, “Arrival”, “American Hustle” and “28 weeks later”.
He was nominated for an Oscar for best actor for his work in the 2008 film “The Hurt Locker” and for best supporting actor for the 2010 film “The Town.”
Renner is scheduled to return to Hollywood for a red carpet ceremony and discussion about her docuseries “Rennervations” on April 11.
