On Tuesday, April 18, on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of the character of Supermandirector James Gunn announced on their social media the start of pre-production for the film “Superman: Legacy”with which he will start a new saga about “the man of steel”.
Gunn accompanied a photograph of the first page of the film’s script (written by himself) with the message: “I am honored to be part of the legacy. And what better day than the anniversary of Superman to get into the pre-production of #SupermanLegacy? Costumes, production design and more are already underway.”
Several months ago Gunn and peter safran assumed the positions of directors of DC Studiosmaking multiple changes in terms of the films to be produced by that company. “Superman: Legacy” it will be the first, and it is scheduled to premiere in the United States on July 11, 2025. henry cavill (who played Superman in the films of the previous saga) will no longer participate in this projectand so far James does not have the main actor, so in the coming months he will start with the casting to select the protagonist of these new adventures of the superhero from the planet Krypton.
