There are times when the judges have to tread very thinly to choose between two very good dishes and other times it is the opposite: at the 18th gala of ‘Masterchef 11’, all the dishes were so bad that it cost them to give the name of Francesc as expelled contestant.
“You have to put your batteries”
The Pinar de Aravaca nursing home (Madrid) was the scene of the outdoor test last night. The ‘Masterchef 11’ contestants were divided into two teams to prepare a menu designed by chef Pepa Muñoz, with a change of kitchen included in the middle of cooking.
The team led by Claudia was chosen as the best, while Álex, Ana, Francesc, Jotha, Jorge Juan and Marta wore black aprons. The challenge to save himself from elimination was to perform a dish adapted for people with allergies and food intolerances.
The most decent dishes were those of Ana and Marta, while the rest only received bad words from the judges: “Today we have passed the dishes through a very fine sieve. It is not to be proud of. You have to put your batteries together” Pepe Rodríguez urged them.
In the end, they opted for Francesc to be the next expelled. “Being in the contest has delighted me. I will continue trying to cook and in the future I will see what I do. I’ve had a great time, I’ve really enjoyed these two months” were his last words.
