last night they were Look at Ibarguren and Pepa Charro at ‘El Hormiguero’. The actresses came to present ‘The Bride of America’ and Ibarguren took the opportunity to remember one of the strangest and most surreal pranks he spent with his baby.
It was a joke
On Tuesday Miren Ibarguren and Pepa Charro attended ‘El Hormiguero’ as guests (AKA La Terremoto de Alcorcón) to present the film ‘America’s Sweetheart’, the new comedy by Alfonso Albacete (‘Mentiras y gordas’) about two brothers who travel to Mexico for their father’s unexpected wedding to a woman 30 years younger. It opens on February 17.
Ibarguren took the opportunity to remember one of the most bizarre jokes he played when his baby was born. The actress asked her friend Nacho Díaz, nominated for the 2023 Goya Awards for Best Makeup and Hairdressing for ‘Cerdita’, to I made him a silicone “person face”.
“It’s not that strong. Then they give birth to me and I’m fed up already” she defended herself. Charro couldn’t believe it: “Where does your head take you to think I’m going to do that?”, to which Ibarguren replied that “during pregnancy you can’t smoke and I had a lot of free time”. The actress decided not to do it in the hospital itself, but she did when they brought the baby to her house:
In the end I didn’t do it to the child in the hospital because I felt sorry for him. My idea was to put the mask on someone else’s child. When the child was at home, I did do it a little bit but as soon as you showed it to them they already saw that it was a joke.
As Ibarguren recalls, one of the few people who fell for the joke when seeing her son with the mask on was Teresa Casanova, Eduardo Casanova’s mother, who saw him on a video call and began to cry: “Well, it’s okay, it’s hardly noticeable. But you know we’re going to love him the same”.
