Since the release of the remarkable ‘7 Years’ at the end of 2016, Netflix It has released a multitude of Spanish films exclusive to the platform. For my part, I am quite clear that there are two that stand out above the rest. On the one hand there is ‘Klaus’, a little animated jewel ideal for that Christmas that is just around the corner. On the other we have ‘Bajocero’, a great thriller which can also now be seen for free for a limited time on RTVE Play.
Second feature film directed by Lluis Quilezwho also writes the script in collaboration with Fernando Navarro (‘Secret Origins’), ‘Bajocero’ tells the story of how a transfer of prisoners becomes complicated to unsuspected limits. A mysterious stranger with evil intentions wants to get one of the inmates and will not hesitate to do everything possible to achieve it.
In ‘Bajocero’ you will find a great tension exercise, since it alternates the crisis that takes place inside the van with that mysterious threat on the outside. Obviously, it requires certain leaps of faith from the viewer, but what it offers more than makes up for those small concessions that are always necessary in stories of these characteristics.
Another of the great attractions that the film offers are their performances, where the work of Javier Gutierrez and Karra Elejalde. Both shine separately, but when the movie peaks is when they have to interact, but the inevitable confrontation between the two works more as the icing on the cake rather than as its main point of interest.
If you want to take the opportunity to see it on RTVE Play, keep in mind that it will be available there until next December 19. By the way, if you are wondering how it is possible that it ended up on that platform, it is because ‘Bajocero’ was intended to be released in theaters and ended up being sold to Netflix at the last minute.
