I remember that just a few months ago I offered you a selection of 4 films as controversial as they are stimulating that you could retrieve in streaming. Today I come to warn you that one of them will no longer be available on Amazon Prime Video within little more than 24 hours. I mean ‘The hunt’.
Hated by Donald Trump
Released in 2020, ‘The Hunt’ grabbed a lot more headlines then for being a hated movie for donald trump than for anything else. The reason? That the former President of the United States stated that the reason for his existence was “inflame and cause chaos“. The undisguised criticism that he makes of a certain sector of society undoubtedly helped this.
To be fair, ‘The Hunt’ is more of an escape movie that drinks directly from the essential ‘The Evil Zaroff’ and its multiple iterations to offer a show as violent as it is entertaining about a group of people who are being hunted by people of wealthy class . That is something that the script of Damon Lindeloff and Nick Cuse never overlooked, thus filling the story with moments full of a lot of bad blood, shamelessly mixing terror, action and comedy.
From its hectic start, ‘The hunt’ is a film very adept at holding the viewer’s attentionas it includes several twists throughout its tight footage -by minute 85 we are already seeing the final credits- and it is very well led by Betty Gilpinone of the protagonists of the long-awaited ‘GLOW’.
