Instagram joins the social networks that improve their privacy functions, implementing a function that will warn if a conversation was saved through screenshots.
The measure arose after Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, asked that users’ private information on social networks be protected.
Instagram and Facebook Messenger conversations have increased their level of security and now taking a screenshot of them to share with others will be almost impossible, as it will be reported if someone made a screenshot of the conversation.
Mark Zuckerberg announced that the new update in Instagram and Messenger chats will provide an alert to the user if someone takes a screenshot of the conversation, which will include a notification with the inscription “(User) took a screenshot” so that both parties are aware. of it.
The update will start in the United States and is expected to roll out to other locations around the world soon. However, there is no estimated date, since the reaction of users to this measure will have to be analyzed.
It should be noted that in the case of Instagram, the update will start in Instagram Direct and not in stories or regular posts. While on Facebook Messenger it will be available to those who have end-to-end encrypted messages.
