There were not a few who ended up somewhat disenchanted with the last seasons of ‘Game of Thrones’. Until now we knew that the participation of George R. R. Martin in them it had been less than the one at the beginning of the HBO Max series, but now it has been the writer himself who has confirmed it, also stating that not even he knows the reason.
“You’ll have to ask Dan and David”
Martin has spoken with the New York Times on the occasion of the imminent premiere of ‘The house of the dragon’, making it clear that it was not his decision to leave ‘Game of Thrones’ quite aside, because that is something that we owe to David Benioff and DB Weiss:
For seasons 5 and 6, and especially for seasons 7 and 8, I was pretty much left out. Why? I don’t know, you’ll have to ask Dan and David.
Both Benioff and Weiss did not want to participate in the article in question, but that silence invites us to think that something strange happened in his relationship with Martin. What is clear is that many fans of ‘Game of Thrones’ are going to take advantage of this information to continue attacking the final stretch of the series.
By the way, Martin recently announced that the last two books of the literary saga are going to differ quite a bit from what we saw in the HBO Max series, to the point of saying that there will be characters who died in ‘Game of Thrones’ who will survive in the books and vice versa. Now all that’s left is for those novels to actually get published.…
