Chris Hemsworth was last night at ‘El Hormiguero’ to present ‘Tyler Rake 2’, his upcoming premiere. The interpreter recalled the filming of the film and the complicated action scene in sequence shot that he had to face.
“Everything is real, there is no chroma”
Chris Hemsworth presented his new film in ‘El Hormiguero’: ‘Tyler Rake 2’, sequel to ‘Tyler Rake’, in which the mercenary protagonist returns to embark on a new and risky mission. The movie premieres on Netflix on June 16.
Hemsworth shared some amusing anecdotes from his daily life with Elsa Pataky, such as that he has ended up learning tacos in Spanish from hearing her speak, the cake he gave her for her birthday in which he jokingly congratulated her with a Merry Christmas, or the joke he has with his kids: “When I try to speak Spanish to my children, they laugh at me”.
Regarding the film, Hemsworth recalled how the filming went and, specifically, the spectacular action scene with which he ended up exhausted (Not surprisingly, Sam Hargrave, the director, is Chris Evans’ stunt double in ‘Captain America’):
We have taken the film to the next level: the action scenes are not done with special effects. When I’m on a train, going forty miles an hour, with a helicopter flying ahead… all of that is real, there’s no chroma.
The most difficult scene was a sequence shot, in which some 300 people were involved. There were things burning, I was burning for a moment in the shot. We did the whole fight and, if it wasn’t perfect, we had to repeat it from the beginning. That was the most exhausting scene of my entire life but it was spectacular.
The actor acknowledged that they had to repeat several times due to his mistakes and that he had a lot of injuries, but “above all exhaustion.” He also commented on how difficult it is to slow down after 15-16 hour shoots, apart from rehearsals and training: “You have the adrenaline to the maximum and it is difficult to return home and disconnect”.
