The unexpected return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine for ‘Deadpool 3’ has served to once again remind us of his incredible performance as the Marvel superhero over the years. One of the most remembered aspects of it is the incredible physique that he has always shown and now the actor has assured that at no point did he take steroids to get it.
“I did it the old-fashioned way”
The protagonist of ‘Logan’ has spoken about it in the program ‘Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace’where they openly asked him about the subject, stressing that many people wondered at some point if he resorted to that shortcut:
No, I love my job. And I love Wolverine. I have to be careful what I say here, but I had been told anecdotally what the side effects of that are. And I said to myself: ‘I don’t like my job that much’. So no, I did it the old fashioned way. And I’m telling you, I’ve had more chicken – I’m so sorry to all the vegans and vegetarians and chickens in the world. Karma is literally not good for me. If the gods have anything to do with chickens, I’m in trouble.
In fact, the actor has highlighted that getting in shape to the role requires so much dedication that during the six months prior to the filming of ‘Deadpool 3’ it will be his only job:
I’ve learned that you can’t rush it, it takes time, so I’ll have six months from finishing ‘The Music Man’ until I start shooting. And I’m not going to do anything else. I’m going to be with my family and going in. That will be my job for six months.
The premiere of ‘Deadpool 3’ is scheduled for November 8, 2024 and it will be the tenth film in which Jackman plays Wolverine -although his participation in both ‘X-Men: First Class’ and ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ was merely testimonial-.
